Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of On The Table ("the game") and the website at onthetablevr.com, operated by BeepBoop Studios LLC ("BeepBoop", "we", "us"). By playing the game or using the website, you agree to these Terms. The Meta Quest platform's own terms also apply when you play.

1. The game

On The Table is a virtual reality table tennis game for Meta Quest. It's provided for entertainment. Features may change while the game is in development, and test builds may contain bugs.

2. Play safely

Swinging a paddle in VR can hurt you or damage things around you. When you play:

• clear a play space wider than your full swing, and set up your Quest boundary;
• wear the controller wrist straps, and keep pets, people and furniture out of reach;
• take breaks, and stop playing if you feel dizzy, sick or uncomfortable;
• follow Meta's health and safety warnings for your headset.

You play at your own risk, and you're responsible for your surroundings.

3. Your account

The game uses your Meta account. You must be at least 13 years old to play, and old enough to use Meta Quest under Meta's rules where you live. You're responsible for activity under your account.

4. Purchases

If the game or anything in it is sold, it's sold through the Meta Quest Store, and refunds follow Meta's refund policy. Contact us at support@onthetablevr.com if something you bought isn't working.

5. Fair play and conduct online

Online matches only work if everyone plays fair and treats each other well. Don't:

• use cheats, mods, bots, AI tools or anything else that drives or alters your paddle, your movement or the ball other than your own real swing;
• exploit bugs, interfere with matches or with other players' connections;
• harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse other players, including in voice chat and display names;
• share hateful, sexual or illegal content, or anyone's personal information.

Every hit is checked against the player's tracked movement. We may end matches, remove results and suspend or ban players from online features for breaking these rules. You can report a player to support@onthetablevr.com or through Meta's reporting tools.

6. Other services

Online play uses Epic Online Services, and your account, avatar and friends come from Meta. Their own terms and policies apply to those services. We aren't responsible for outages or changes on their side.

7. Our intellectual property

The game, its physics, artwork, venues, sounds, UI, branding, source code and all other content ("BeepBoop Content") are owned by BeepBoop Studios LLC or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark and other laws. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to play the game for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. Without our prior written permission, you may not:

• copy, distribute, publicly display or publish BeepBoop Content, in whole or in part, beyond sharing your own gameplay footage and screenshots;
• create derivative works based on the game;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to derive the game's source code;
• scrape or extract data from the game or its services by automated means, or use the game or its content to train any machine learning or AI model;
• use the On The Table or BeepBoop names, logos or branding in a way that suggests our endorsement.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The game and website are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee they'll be uninterrupted or error-free, or that online services will always be available.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeepBoop's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the game or website is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater. We're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.

10. Termination

You can stop playing and uninstall the game at any time. We may suspend or end your access to online features if you break these Terms or put other players or the service at risk.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll tell players about material changes in the game or on our Discord, and continuing to play after they take effect means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Taylor County, Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
